Font Introduction

Charles Wright is a full typeface in the style of lettering used for British vehicle registration plates. Originally designed in 1935 at the metal stamping factory of Wright & Son in London, this sophisticated sans serif was condensed in 2001 to allow room for an extra letter and symbols. The standard Bold weight conforms to British registration plate specifications with precise character heights of 79mm and widths of 50mm. The K-Type version offers multiple weights including Medium and Regular variants, plus oblique styles, making it versatile for both professional design work and creative typography projects while maintaining its distinctive geometric precision and clarity.
